Here are some links to software that you can use to record and edit your videos.

Recording

Camstudio: a free screen capture program that permits you to record video and sound.

Codecs

x264 vfw : a free high performance video compressor.

Editing

Virtualdub: a free editing program. Can be used to combine audio and video files.

Wax 2.0: a free editing program. Wax is not essential to the process, but can be used to touch up videos.

Download all listed files (Wax 2.0 is optional). Install x264 and Camstudio.

In Camstudio, go to Options, Video Options. Set settings as:

Here is what to enter for the x264 Configure settings:

Now go back to Camstudio's main screen. Click on Options->Audio Options->Audio Options for Microphone. Here is what you should enter for the audio settings.

Now you are all set to record. You can record your video and comment simultaneously or add commentary afterwards. To add commentary afterwards, use Virtualdub.

Remember, videos should be at least 20 minutes in length.
